How it works

Updated October 25, 2026 · How we research

You answer six questions, we show the buyer programs that fit, and you apply to the ones you choose. Everything after that is between you and the buyer: scoping, a sample, an offer, an agreement, de-identification and payment.

  1. YouAnswer six questions

Size, years operating, status, country, industry and the systems you use. Two minutes, no files.

  2. UsSee buyers that fit

We show two or three buyer programs that accept companies like yours, and say why each fits.

  3. YouApply to the buyers you choose

You go to each buyer's own application. Applying to more than one lets you compare offers.

  4. BuyerScope and sample

The buyer asks what systems you have and may check a small sample under a confidentiality agreement.

  5. BuyerOffer and agreement

You get terms in writing: price, timing, what is included and what is left out. Nothing is final until you sign.

  6. BuyerDe-identify and pay

The buyer or its processor removes personal details before use and pays you on its stated terms.

How it works, start to finish. You deal with the buyer directly; we never see or hold your records.

Where your company fits

Where does your company fit?Start: does the company have about 20 or more employees and 3 or more years of records in several systems? If not and it is closing, look at buyers that take records from closing or closed companies; if not and still operating, look at buyers with no published size minimum. If yes, check the records are yours to license; if not, talk to your lawyer and license only what you own. If they are yours: if you want one known payment, look at buyers that pay a one-time amount; if you prefer a share of each sale, look at buyers that pay a revenue share. Companies with 250 or more employees can ask us for a call.20+ employees, 3+ years, records in several systems?NoYesClosing or closed?YesNoBuyers that takeclosing companiesBuyers with nosize minimumAre the records yoursto license?NoYesTalk to your lawyer;license only what you ownHow do you wantto be paid? One known paymentShare of each saleBuyers that paya one-time amountRevenue-sharebuyers250+ employees? A starting point, not advice. Every buyer sets its own rules; the check applies them to your answers.

How we choose which buyers to show you

How matching worksYour answers are checked against each buyer's published rules. Buyers you do not qualify for are removed. The rest are ordered by fit with your industry, systems and status. You see the top two or three; buyers that pay us a referral fee are shown first when they fit, and are labelled. Your answerssize, years, systems Published ruleswho each buyer accepts Order by fitpaying buyers labelled 2–3 buyersyou choose
Matching is rule-based and the rules are described on our methodology page.

We first remove programs whose published rules exclude you (size, years operating, country, company status). The rest are ordered by fit with your industry, systems and status. Buyers that pay us a referral fee, or that we feature, are shown first when they fit, and are labelled. Full method.

How long it usually takes

  1. Week 1Check fit, apply to two or three buyers
  2. Weeks 1–2Scoping call, NDA, small sample
  3. Weeks 2–4Written offer; you review with your lawyer
  4. Weeks 3–8Export or connector set-up, de-identification
  5. After acceptancePayment on the buyer's stated terms
A typical shape, not a promise. Buyers publish different timelines and larger scopes take longer.

What we do not do

  • We do not see, hold, copy or move your records.
  • We do not negotiate or sign on your behalf unless you ask us to on a call, and then only as you direct.
  • We do not give legal, tax or financial advice. Have your lawyer read any agreement.

Large companies

If you have 250 or more employees, you can ask us for a call. We help you scope what to license and approach several buyers at once. We are paid by the buyer in that case too, never by you, and we tell you which buyers we will introduce you to first. Request a call.

How we make money

Some buyers pay us a referral fee when a company we sent them signs. You pay us nothing. As of October 25, 2026, we have referral agreements with Handshake AI, HUMXN, Mercor, micro1, Mode, Polyshares, The General Data Company, Troveo; each buyer profile says whether we are in its program.

  • Eligibility comes first: buyers whose published rules exclude you are never shown, whether or not they pay us.
  • Among buyers that fit, those that pay us are shown first and labelled "We may be paid". A few buyers we highlight for their scale and backing are labelled "Featured".
  • We list buyers that don't pay us on the same fields as those that do, and we don't score or rank buyers.
  • Buyer programs that describe their referral fees present them as separate from what the company receives. Ask the buyer whether any introducer fee affects your price (more on referral fees).
  • If a company a referral partner sent signs, we may share our fee with that partner. It doesn't change what you pay or see.
