Perpetual exclusive licenseTrack record: four unnamed deals, self-reported

Polyshares licenses operational records directly from a company, pays the company itself, and then anonymizes the data and supplies it to AI labs.

Good fit if: You want a single buyer to pay a fixed licence fee for a defined set of records, with a stated timeline and no commission.

The facts

Every row is from Polyshares's own pages, checked 2026-10-25. "Not stated" means we did not find it published.

TypePays a one-time amount for your records
What it takesteam chat; shared file storage; email; CRM history; support tickets; design files; call recordings; accounting and ERP exports
Who qualifiesAs of October 2026, any company with real operating history in any sector qualifies, whether venture-backed, mid-market or founder-owned. Polyshares says the length and depth of the record matter more than headcount or revenue. Closing or closed companies are not addressed.
Company status acceptedoperating (closing or closed companies not mentioned)
How it paysupfront: Polyshares is the buyer and pays the company for a license to defined data; no equity or debt is involved.
Published rangeTypically $100K to $2M paid to the company, with more possible for large or long records. The buyer's figure, not an offer. (buyer's label: typical)
When it paysOffer within one to two weeks of intake; payment net 30 to 60 days after the data is approved, shared and anonymized.
Fees to youNone. Polyshares says it charges no fee or commission because it is the buyer, not an agent.
ExclusivityPerpetual and exclusive. Each of the four closed licenses on its track-record page is described as a "perpetual exclusive license to the operational record". Its data handling page says licenses are exclusive by default unless agreed otherwise; its home page describes "defined material for a defined term".
Data handlingA specialist outside privacy partner removes names, emails, phone numbers, account numbers and addresses before Polyshares or any lab sees the record. Polyshares reviews an anonymized sample before pricing. Data a company holds on behalf of its own clients is excluded. Labs never learn the company's identity, and Polyshares does not disclose which labs receive which records.

How its process works

  1. Answer a short intake ('Check your data')
  2. Polyshares reviews an anonymized sample and prices it
  3. Receive an offer within one to two weeks
  4. Sign the license paperwork
  5. Data is anonymized, approved and shared
  6. Payment net 30 to 60 days

What to check before you sign

  • Licenses it has closed are perpetual and exclusive, which would stop you licensing the same records to any other buyer
  • Track record is four unnamed deals it reports itself (roofing, general contracting, solar, marketing agency)
  • The sample offer card on its home page shows a 14-day expiry; ask for time to compare offers
  • License term length and retention or deletion terms are not published
  • Data held for your clients cannot be licensed
  • The sample $640,000 offer on the home page is illustrative, not a result

Questions to ask Polyshares

  • Who signs the agreement with us, and in which state is that company registered?
  • When exactly are we paid, and what has to happen first?
  • Is the license exclusive? For how long, and in which uses?
  • Who de-identifies the records, where, and can we review the result?
  • What happens to the copy when the license ends?

More on this in questions to ask a buyer and comparing offers.

What we could not confirm
  • The data licensing page does not use the word 'exclusive', while the data handling page says licenses are exclusive by default
  • The data handling page refers to a buyer portal with de-identified listings, which sits uneasily with the statement that nothing is listed or auctioned
  • Whether closing or closed companies qualify is not stated
