Can our Jobber or Housecall Pro history be licensed to AI companies, and how do we get it out?
Possibly, though small home-service accounts often hold less detail than buyers want, and most of it is about homeowners. Jobber lets admins export clients as CSV (comma-separated values, a plain spreadsheet format) and email most reports as CSV. Housecall Pro lets admins email themselves CSV lists of customers and jobs.
What lives in these tools, and why might buyers value it?
Jobber and Housecall Pro run the daily work of smaller service businesses such as lawn care, cleaning, pest control, and handyman or HVAC (heating and air conditioning) shops. They hold client lists, requests, quotes, scheduled visits, jobs, invoices, payments, timesheets and client messages.
Buyers building scheduling, quoting or customer-service tools may value patterns across many jobs: how requests turn into quotes, how long visits take, and which work recurs. Any single small account is modest on its own. Buyers that value this kind of data may want several years of history and consistent use.

How does a Jobber export work?
As of October 2026, Jobber's help center describes two routes:
- Client export: from Clients, choose More Actions, then Export Clients, and pick CSV or vCard. Jobber emails the file. CSV files are split at 1,500 rows, so larger lists arrive as several files. The file can include tags, property addresses, contact details and custom fields. Client exporting is available on select plans.
- Report exports: most of Jobber's 20-plus built-in reports, covering invoices, quotes, visits, jobs, timesheets and client communications, can be emailed as CSV. Jobber names the Taxation, Waypoints and Job Follow-ups reports as not exportable. Reports are also limited to select plans.
- Who can run them: only admin users can export clients. Admins always see reports; other team members need the Reports permission and only see reports for features they can access.
How does a Housecall Pro export work?
Housecall Pro's help center describes exporting the Customers list and the Jobs list separately. In each section, choose Actions, then Export, confirm the email address, and wait for an email containing a CSV file. Only employees listed as Admins can export these lists. The article does not state row or size limits.
What do the exports leave unclear?
Neither vendor's articles say whether job notes, photos, attachments or full message threads come out in these files. Run one export of each type and open it before describing your data to a buyer. If notes are missing, ask the vendor's support team whether another route exists.
Jobber's help also mentions an App Marketplace, for example a Report Scheduler app that emails reports on a schedule. If a buyer proposes connecting through an app, ask what it can read, whether access can be limited to the records in scope, and how to revoke it afterwards.
What should stay out?
- Client names, phone numbers, emails and property addresses.
- Tags or notes that reveal personal circumstances, such as health, disability or access instructions.
- Gate codes, door codes and key locations.
- Payment and card details.
- Employee timesheets, pay and GPS waypoint history tied to named staff.
- Photos of the inside of customers' homes.
What rights questions apply?
Your software agreement governs how you may use exported data, so read its data-use terms. The larger question is your customers: these records describe where people live and what work they had done. Whether privacy laws apply depends partly on your size and where you operate; our employee and customer privacy guide explains the basics. Ask your lawyer before licensing anything tied to customers.
Where should a small service business start?
Export the clients list and one or two job or quote reports, then look at which columns are free text. If most of the value sits in notes, removing names may not be enough, since notes often mention people and places. Our small-business page explains how small accounts are typically handled.
Common questions
Can a team member export our Jobber clients?
Jobber says only admin users can export clients. Team members with the Reports permission can export some client data through reports.
Who can export from Housecall Pro?
Housecall Pro says only employees listed as Admins can export the Customers and Jobs lists.
Is one small account enough to license?
Sometimes not on its own. Buyer requirements differ, so check the buyer's minimums before preparing data.
Do exports include job photos?
The vendors' export articles do not say. Run a test export and check, and leave photos of homes out regardless.
